Golwalkar Mission of Hindu Rashtra

RSS Criticism of Minority appeasement and anti-Hindu bias

RSS Criticism of Minority appeasement and anti-Hindu bias A core charge is that Nehruvian secularism is not neutral: it privileges minorities (Muslims and Christians in particular) through separate personal laws, institutional autonomy, targeted benefits, and political “vote-bank” considerations, while treating Hindu society as the default from which concessions are extracted or as the one community open to reform and criticism. Historically, RSS organs and leaders (including M.S. Golwalkar in Bunch of Thoughts) rejected the idea of a purely secular state in favour of a Hindu cultural nation in which minorities should assimilate or accept a subordinate position without special claims. Early Organiser editorials dismissed the secular Constitution and national symbols as insufficiently rooted in Hindu tradition. Nandakumar’s book Hindutva in the Changing Times calls for complete rejection of Nehruvian secularism because it fosters a false sense of unity, keeps Hindus divided and con...

RSS Critique of Nehru

Image
RSS Critique of Nehru  The RSS has long maintained a sharp ideological and political critique of Jawaharlal Nehru, viewing him as the primary architect of a secular, socialist, Western-oriented India that conflicted with its vision of cultural nationalism rooted in Hindutva. This opposition dates to the pre-Independence period and intensified after 1947, particularly over the 1948 ban on the RSS following Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination. Golwalkar and later commentaries in outlets like Organiser) have consistently framed Nehru’s approach as alien to Indian civilizational values: • Westernized secularism and cultural disconnect: Nehru is portrayed as too European in outlook, perpetuating colonial-era political culture and social philosophy. Critics argue he viewed India “from the prism of Europe” and lacked deep affinity for Indian (Hindu) culture and traditions. His secularis...

Islamic and Muslim Influence on Nehru

Image
Islamic and Muslim Influence on Nehru Jawaharlal Nehru was a Kashmiri Brahmin (Hindu Pandit) by birth and family background. Claims that he or his immediate family were Muslim, or that his lineage converted from Islam in recent generations, are false and have been repeatedly debunked. His parents were Motilal Nehru and Swarup Rani; the family name “Nehru” traces to an ancestor (Raj Kaul) associated with a canal (nahar), and he identified with Hindu cultural inheritance while remaining largely agnostic/secular in personal belief. Islamic influence on Nehru was cultural-historical and political, not personal or doctrinal. His dominant influences remained Western rationalism/science, socialism, and a selective, progressive reading of Indian civilization.
