  Amit Shah: An effective political organiser Amit Shah was born in 1964 to a financially prosperous, upper-caste Gujarati family. His great-grandfather was the  nagarseth  – a phenomenally rich adviser to the ruling king – in the small princely state of Mansa, an hour’s drive from Ahmedabad.
