 JALANDHARA BANDHA (Throat Lock) Contracting the throat by bringing the chin to the chest is the bandha called jalandhara. It destroys old age and death. That is jalandhara bandha which catches the flow of nectar in the throat. It destroys all throat ailments (70-71). Jalandhara bandha is the throat lock which helps prevent the fluid of bindu from flowing further down than vishuddhi. Jal is ‘throat,’ and dhara means ‘supporting’ or ‘a tubular vessel in the body. Jalandhara can be done in the same standing position as used for uddiyana bandha or nauli karma. However, it is usually practiced in conjunction with pranayama and other major kriyas involving breath retention.   Technique Sit comfortably in siddhasana/siddha yoni asana, padmasana, sukhasana or vajrasana.   Nirvikalpa Samādhi (Samādhi without Distinctions)  Nirvikalpa Samādhi (Samādhi without distinctions or without mental modifications) is a profound meditative state described in yogic and Vedantic traditions as the highest form of absorption, where the mind becomes completely still, all dualistic thoughts, concepts, and mental fluctuations (vṛttis) cease, and consciousness rests in pure, non-dual awareness. Etymology  Meaning Nir  = without, beyond. Vikalpa  = distinction, differentiation, thought-construction, imagination, or mental modification. Dalits Participation in the 1857 Revolt: Mythical Narratives

The Dalits of northern India have an emotional link with the 1857 War of Independence for they believe that it was initiated by them. They claim that the Soldier Revolt by the mostly Dalit Indian soldiers in the British Army that took place in Barrackpore in 1857, snowballed into the War of Independence. In the Majhauwa village of Azamgarh district of UP there are four cemented stones shich are called Shahid Baba by the villagers. The Dalits of this village worship these stones with red powder for their future happiness. On enquiring about the history of these stones, the village school master said that four Chamars of this village laid down their lives during the 1857 rebellion. These four men started appearing in the dreams of the villagers and conveying messages saying that if they prayed to these four martyrs they would all prosper.
