  Role of RSS and Hindu Mahasabha in connstruction of Somnath Temple RSS and Hindu Mahasabha had no role in Construction of  the  reconstruction of the Somnath Temple. The temple was reconstructed by Congress leaders like Sardar Patel; K.M. Munshi and Mahatam Gandhi. Pandit Nahru also supported but he was not in favour of Government Funding.   The reconstruction of the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, India, was a significant post-independence project symbolizing Hindu cultural revival. The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, had been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times historically, with the last major destruction by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1665. Matadin Bhangi: A Dalit hero of 1857 Revolt

  Matadin Bhangi was one of the Dalit heroes of 1857 Revolt who is seen as the one to have inspired the 1857 War of Independence and not Mangal Pandey that the elite history claims. The narrative for Matadin Bhangi published by D C Dinkar in “Swatantra Sangram Mein Achhuton Ka Yogdan” (1990) is given in the following words:  "There was a factory in Barrackpore where cartridges were manufactured. Many of the workers of this factory belonged to the untouchable communities. One day one of the workers felt thirsty. He asked a soldier for a mug of water. That soldier was Mangal Pandey. Mangal Pandey, a Brahmin, refused him water because the worker was an untouchable. This was very humiliating for the worker. He retaliated to the Brahmin soldier saying, “ Bara awa hai Brahaman ka beta. Chetram Jatav: A freedom fighter of the 1857 Revolt

Chetram Jatav was a freedom fighter who participated in the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He joined the mutiny on 26 May 1857 in the Soro region of Eta district, North-Western Provinces (now Uttar Pradesh). He was tied to a tree and shot. According to legends, Maharaja Patiala saw a man who was carrying a lion on his back. On being asked, it was found that the man had killed the lion without a weapon. The king asked him to join his army. At the instance of the king, he joined the army. The person's name was Cheta Ram Jatav. Cheta Ram fought the British. Seeing the British harassing the people, he fought them, after which the British arrested him and tied him with a tree. The circumstances of Jatav's death have been highlighted by Badri Narayan Tiwari, a Subaltern historian from the G.B.
